Gujarat revised its minimum wages with effect from 1 April 2026, and the cycle runs to 30 September 2026. Zone I unskilled work is Rs. 13,325 per month and Zone II is approximately Rs. 12,727. The revision rests on reference Shra.Aa.5/Te.3/2025 dated 2 August 2025.
Gujarat uses a two-zone structure and a basic-plus-VDA build, with the variable dearness allowance linked to the Ahmedabad Consumer Price Index. Revisions fall on the standard half-yearly calendar of 1 April and 1 October.
The state publishes daily rather than monthly figures, which is the most common source of error when reading Gujarat notifications. For the cycle from 1 October 2025, Zone I unskilled was a basic of Rs. 452 plus VDA of Rs. 48.50, giving Rs. 500.50 per day and Rs. 13,013 per month. Zone II was Rs. 489.50 per day, or Rs. 12,727 monthly. Skilled work in Zone I was Rs. 13,585 per month.
The cycle before that, effective 1 April 2025, saw the VDA rise by Rs. 10.50 per day, which is Rs. 273 per month. Zone I unskilled stood at Rs. 497.50 per day and Zone II at Rs. 486.50, with skilled work in Zone I at Rs. 519.50 per day.
Because Gujarat publishes daily, the monthly figure depends on the multiplier you apply. A twenty-six day month and a thirty day month give materially different answers on the same notified rate. Confirm which convention applies to your establishment before converting, particularly when computing arrears across several cycles. Where a contract specifies a monthly wage, state the daily rate and the multiplier in the contract itself to avoid the dispute later.

उससे पूर्व के चक्र में, जो 1 अप्रैल 2025 से प्रभावी था, वीडीए प्रतिदिन 10.50 रुपये बढ़ा, जो मासिक 273 रुपये है। ज़ोन I की अकुशल दर 497.50 रुपये प्रतिदिन तथा ज़ोन II की 486.50 रुपये थी, और ज़ोन I में कुशल कार्य 519.50 रुपये प्रतिदिन।
