West Bengal revised its minimum wages with effect from 1 July 2026, through circulars notified on 22 June 2026. Zone A unskilled work in manufacturing is Rs. 10,558 per month, which is Rs. 406 per day. Zone B is Rs. 9,760, or Rs. 375 per day. The cycle runs to 31 December 2026. West Bengal revises on 1 January and 1 July rather than the more common April and October pattern, which it shares with Maharashtra. Planning a West Bengal revision for April will put you two quarters out of step. The state uses a two-zone structure, A and B, across four skill grades. The preceding cycle, notified on 9 January 2026 and covering 31 scheduled employments, had Zone A unskilled for shops at Rs. 10,386 per month or Rs. 399 per day, with Zone B at Rs. 9,760. The differences are small but they are real, and they most likely reflect either different scheduled employments within the same circular set or rounding applied at different points in the daily-to-monthly conversion. If you are computing arrears for the January to June 2026 period, take the figure from the circular covering your specific scheduled employment rather than from a consolidated table. The July 2025 cycle had Zone A unskilled at Rs. 10,329, semi-skilled at Rs. 11,363, skilled at Rs. 12,499 and highly skilled at Rs. 13,748, which gives a reference point for the prior year.
