Haryana added an optional monthly online route for Labour Welfare Fund remittance with effect from July 2024. It is worth taking up, and the reason is specific to Haryana rather than a general preference for online filing. Haryana's labour welfare fund cap is CPI-indexed, so the figure changes every January without a discretionary notification. Pairing an automatically-moving amount with a manual remittance process gives you two things that can drift independently: the rate can go stale while the payment continues on the old figure, and nothing in either process cross-checks the other. An online route at least puts the remittance in a system that reflects the current position, which narrows the window in which a stale figure keeps being paid. Three practical notes on taking it up. Hold the portal credentials at the organisation rather than with an individual, because a login tied to a departed employee's email or mobile is the most common reason an online remittance is missed - the same failure that affects Karnataka's professional tax portal and West Bengal's mandatory electronic labour welfare fund payment.
